Are things better for you? I didn’t really say that my great-uncle is rich. He just has more money and resources than most of my peers, but he and I aren’t really close and he wouldn’t be willing to help out someone he doesn’t know. Meta is the only exception because he’s considered part of the family.

 

DROSSEL

Then say it’s for y’all. Things are worse, Conny’s been in the hospital, and I am going to have to give up the job of my dreams for stupid goddamn military.

 

EVRYN

Your country thanks you for your service. So does my country, as you’ve guaranteed us an easy win if we ever go to war against you lot.

 

SIGYN

DROSSEL

Had a guarantee of 5 years work, free master tech testing. Then her cousin was giving us the family business. He makes after taxes on that dealership, 175 grand a year. That’s what I want. Her medical put us in debt 23 grand.

 

EVRYN

She doesn’t have coverage, eh? Well, that’s a shame.

 

DROSSEL

I’m in the worst situation ever.

 

EVRYN

Oh, don’t be so dramatic. Fifty quid says Akuma is actually in the worst situation ever right now.

 

DROSSEL

Again, probably not as bad as whatever Akuma’s going through. Why am I on her side?

 

DROSSEL

I just need help, 35 grand.

 

EVRYN

Which she’s made it clear she DOESN'T HAVE.

 

DROSSEL

EVRYN

I quite like your family, from what I’ve heard of them. Too bad they turned out such a bad egg.

I actually do know what you’re going through. I went through something similar when I was younger. Hopefully you’ll get through it.

 

DROSSEL

I’m gonna be fucking miserable. Conny said she’s gonna leave if I do military.

 

SIGYN

Why would she leave you for going into the military? My friend Reiya was military and her spouse was faithful to her.

 

DROSSEL

Her parents divorced for military. It scares her. That’s why I don’t wanna do it. Just want a loan.

 

EVRYN

You’re both pathetic.

 

SIGYN

Do you have a job?

 

DROSSEL

Lined up. January 5th. First check February 1st.

 

SIGYN

Okay, but you should get a seasonal job for now.

 

DROSSEL

7,000.

 

SIGYN

Because if you’re hurting for money that badly, you need to do something about it.

 

DROSSEL

I’ve tried. No hits.

 

SIGYN

Macy’s is hiring for seasonal support.

 

DROSSEL

Tried. I’m leaving Thanksgiving.

 

SIGYN

Really? They hired me, and I’m not likeable at all, so.

 

DROSSEL

They won’t hire me for just two weeks.

 

EVRYN

Then lie about how long you plan to work there, you stupid twat.

 

SIGYN

Well, I hope something works out for you. I’ve got to go. Catch you later.

 

DROSSEL
